The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Administration will on Tuesday launch 100 new high capacity buses for the Abuja Urban Mass Transport Company [AUMTCO], the Chief Press Secretary to the FCT Minister, Muhammad Hazat Sule announced yesterday.
Sule said the supply of the buses is one of the administration’s moves to enhance its robust transportation policy promised residents of FCT.
According to him, “Abuja commuters are in for a new deal, as the commissioning of these new buses will further improve the transportation network of the entire 8,000 square kilometres of the Federal Capital Territory.”
He said the buses are provided through the FCT SURE-P but driven by the Abuja Investment Company Limited (AICL).
The commission is slated for 11:00am at the Eagle Square, Abuja.
It would be recalled that the FCT, Bala Mohammed on March 18, assured the residents that government would deliver 100 buses to expand the fleet of AUMTCO in April 2014.
