In a bid to enhance and drive home its transportation policy targeted at improving efficient transport system for the residents of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has concluded arrangements to launch additional 100 new Abuja Mass Transit Buses for the Abuja Urban Mass Transport Company (AUMTCO) today.

According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the FCT Minister, Muhammad Sule, the commissioning of the additional high capacity buses is one of the key strides of the Transformation Agenda through the FCTA.

It would be recalled that the FCT minister, Senator Bala Mohammed, had sometime in March assured the residents of the Territory that his Administration would deliver 100 buses of the AUMTCO last April, 2014.

The minister reiterated that these additional 100 buses are also intended to improve its capacity and service delivery in consonance with the dictates of the Transformation Agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan.

According to him, the Abuja commuters are in for a new deal, as the commissioning of these new buses would further improve the transportation network of the entire 8,000 square kilometres of the Territory.

The statement added that remarked that these buses are being made available through the FCT SURE-P but driven by the Abuja Investment Company Limited (AICL).
