The General Manager (GM) Operations of Abuja Urban Mass Transport Company Limited

 Mr Eddie Ajon is retiring today after reaching the compulsory retirement age of 60 years of meritorious service. A sent forth party  was organized for him on 25 April,2019.

 

The Managing Director (MD) Mr Abdulrazaq Oniyangi appreciates Eddie Ajon as he rose through the ladder over time He thank God for him retiring in sound health, the MD states that “AUMTCO is your second home and you are welcome at anytime infact, we can still contact you for advice and professional input anytime we need it”. 

 

Mr Ajon appreciates the MD for his thoughtful way of grant style send forth. He noted that throughout his time in service of AUMTCO he has never seen any as grand as this for any Staff retiring. He further appreciates the support of All Management and Staff throughout his stay in the company, especially during his tenure as acting MD for three and half years. 

 

Ajon noted that AUMTCO challenges are mostly caused by external factors, amazingly when stakeholders support AUMTCO they think they are doing the organization a favour, meanwhile it’s the other way round as the company is providing essential service, hopes they will realize promptly. He thank God Mr Oniyangi who understood the challenges of the company and can optimally pilot it   was re- instated as the Managing Director. 

 

Mr. Ajon is a seasoned transport professional, a visiting Lecturer and external examiner institutions, he has acquired over 30 years of professional working experience in both the public and private sectors most of which was spent in executive positions.

 

He has attended and presented several papers in management transportation and logistics at both local and international workshops and conferences. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, (UK) Member of the Institute of Physical Distribution Management, Member of the Institute of Transport Administration, and a host of other professional bodies both locally and internationally.  His enormous wealth of experience is an invaluable asset to the company.
